Baldwin Launches Next Generation of Highly Successful Basicliner

New design, improved ergonomics and leading edge technology - the compact BasicLiner dampening system is available for all offset litho market segments.
Baldwin will present its new generation of BasicLiner systems for the first time at Drupa 2008. BasicLiner combines in a single unit all of the functions necessary for the preparation, changeover, refrigeration and management of offset dampening solution. BasicLiner systems are available for sheet-fed, commercial web, newspaper and semi commercial applications. Since the launch of the first generation of BasicLiner at Drupa 2000, Baldwin has sold 11,000 units.
This new generation of BasicLiner units benefits from a fresh and innovative design. Baldwin’s development engineers have paid particular attention to ergonomic requirements and even the smallest model allows easy access to enable straightforward maintenance. Adjustments can be made during operation via a clearly designed control panel, while the modular design and plug-in components simplify and speed up any work required when servicing.
To prepare the dampening solution, the new BasicLiner uses Baldwin’s AutoMix 230D system, which ensures a highly precise dosage (±0.1 % accuracy) of additives via piston dosing pumps. The BalControl BC713 system is available as standard for adding alcohol (isopropanol). Alternatively, BasicLiner can be supplied with the IpaSonic measuring and dosing system, which monitors alcohol content using highly accurate ultrasound measuring technology, and delivers measurement accuracy at ±0.1 %.
For economy and sustainability reasons, developing methods to increase the active life of dampening solutions has become increasingly important. The new BasicLiner products are supplied with pocket filters that deliver more effective results compared to previous generations of systems and are easy to replace. There is the option to combine BasicLiner products with the more powerful Baldwin Primary, Performance or LongLife C filtration systems, which, depending on application, can increase the active life of the dampening solution to an even greater extent.
Baldwin will be offering BasicLiner in a variety of reservoir sizes and refrigeration capacities. The first of the new BasicLiner units will be available from September and further versions will be introduced at a later date.
